A final farewell...

Immunicity - It's been fun!

When Immunicity was first closed down, it seemed like a brilliant idea to resurrect the service as a giant middle finger to the copyright mafia. However this was not the case, in the space of a week a magnitude of things have changed on both a personal and professional level. An idea that appeared brilliant has slowly tuned into a giant regret.

I, like many people in the UK and around the world find censorship morally reprehensible. It disgusts me to the core that in this day and age the government has the authority to dictate what we can see on the internet. It doesn't help that the Daily Mail brigade claim censorship is needed for the protection and safety of the children, and enough idiots eat it up as truth.

However much I believe in the idea of fighting censorship, I'm not prepared to destroy the rest of my life for it. A criminal record isn't exactly the most prestigious item to declare to potential employers.

Someone reading this may think I've made the wrong decision and I should continue "sticking it to the man". But it's easy for you to make that judgement when it's not you who's in jeopardy of being arrested and fucked over by the Police. So if you don't like my decision, why not take this opportunity to create your own clone of Immunicity instead of waiting for someone else to take the risks.

Thanks for the experience. It's been fun.

All Immunicity servers (excluding this website) will cease to function at 23:59 on Sunday the 31st of August 2014. Please visit http://immun.es/ for an alternative.
